Дано детальное описание биоценоза соленых озер, включая данные о видовом составе и продуктивности фитопланктона, зообентоса и зоопланктона. Большая часть монографии посвящена описанию популяций артемии 47 озер в различных областях Сибири (Тюменской, Курганской, Челябинской, Омской), в Алтайском регионе, а также озерах Хакасии и Тывы. Издание адресовано специалистам в области экологии, гидробиологии, рыбоводам, экспертам по вопросам использования природных ресурсов и охраны природы, преподавателям и студентам высших учебных заведений.
